Mechanical Maintenance EngineerResponsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on steel processing and production machinery.
- Maintain hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes and pumps.
- Support machinery installations, upgrades and improvement projects.
- Minimise production downtime through effective fault finding.
- Previous mechanical maintenance experience within manufacturing, steel or heavy industry.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyors.
- Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or equivalent desirable.
- Carry out electrical PPM and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery.
- Work with motors, drives, sensors, control panels and automated systems.
- Fault find on PLC-controlled equipment.
- Support machinery upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
- Minimise downtime and maintain reliable production.
- Previous electrical maintenance experience within manufacturing, steel or heavy industry.
- Strong electrical fault-finding ability.
- Experience with PLCs, inverters, motors and control systems.
- NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, 18th Edition or equivalent desirable.
- £38,000 – £45,000 per annum DOE
