Location: Swansea, South West Wales
Pay Rate: £13.96 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Assignment length: Temporary assignment until a minimum of 31st March 2027
Working Pattern: Hybrid, with occasional attendance.

We are currently recruiting for an Administrator to join a public sector organisation supporting important conservation and environmental work across South West Wales.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator who is looking to develop their skills within an environmental setting and work closely with a team of Conservation Officers.

As an Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support to Conservation Officers who spend much of their time working out in the field.

The role will involve a mixture of general administration, record keeping, communication and coordination. You will also be responsible for contacting landowners and supporting the team with the information and documentation required to deliver conservation activities effectively.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Providing day to day administrative support to Conservation Officers
    • Contacting and communicating with landowners by email and telephone
    • Completing, processing and maintaining a range of documentation
    • Updating records, databases and spreadsheets accurately
    • Using Microsoft Excel to enter and manage information
    • Preparing and formatting documents and reports using Microsoft Word
    • Responding to administrative queries and correspondence
    • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring information is kept up to date
    • Supporting the wider team with general administrative duties
    • Assisting with the organisation and coordination of conservation activities

About You
We are looking for someone with good administrative experience who is organised, reliable and confident managing a range of tasks.

You will ideally have:
  • Previous experience working in an administrative role
    • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
    • The ability to maintain accurate records and handle information carefully
    • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
    • A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • Confidence communicating with members of the public and external contacts, including landowners

You do not need to have previous experience within the environmental sector, but an interest in conservation or environmental work would be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a mixture of home and office working while supporting meaningful environmental work across South West Wales.
