JOB TITLE: Buyer

SALARY: £45,000 per annum

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS: Flexible working onsite 



ROLE PURPOSE

To source production materials, consumables, and services at the most advantageous commercial terms, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are consistently achieved.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Procurement & Sourcing





  • Source and procure production items in line with commodity ownership




  • Source consumables required by the business




  • Purchase packaging requirements for production operations




  • Secure contract services (e.g. oils, cleaning) at best value





 Supplier Management





  • Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers




  • Identify and develop alternative supply sources




  • Resolve supplier issues effectively and promptly




  • Manage supplier-related changes to components





2.3 Commercial & Operational Support





  • Support departmental budgets and cost-saving initiatives




  • Prepare and manage enquiries for new business opportunities




  • Participate in technical and engineering meetings as required




  • Support Supplier Quality activities




  • Ensure ethical and legal compliance in all purchasing activities





 Systems & Compliance





  • Maintain purchasing data within the ERP system




  • Manage submission of PPAP samples




  • Ensure compliance with all company standards and procedures (e.g. IATF16949, ISO14001)





 Strategic Support





  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives




  • Assist with implementation and management of long-term supplier agreements
