Job Description

We are recruiting a Yard Supervisor with a Forklift Counterbalance Certificate for our client in Gloucester. As a Yard Supervisor in a busy builders' merchants, you will be responsible for assisting the warehouse team and trades people with loading vehicles, ensuring compliance with standard warehouse and transport operating procedures, and maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with loading of vehicles, ensuring correct products and quantities are in order.
  • Ensure compliance with standard warehouse and transport operating procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment within the warehouse.
  • Conduct stock control and associated stock checks, ordering and maintaining stock levels.
  • Organise warehouse facilities, ensuring both the warehouse and outside yard are always tidy and accessible.
  • Input inward goods and manage documentation and returns to suppliers.
  • Drive forklift and stack/rack new stock.

Requirements:
  • Forklift Counterbalance Certificate.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role or working in a builder's merchant (Essential).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Health and safety awareness.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Basic computer and data input skills.

Further information:
  • Day shift: Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:30, & Friday 07:00-16:00.
  • Pay: £30,000 per year
  • 1x 30-minute lunch break
  • Full training provided.
