Sheridan Maine is collaborating with a market leading organisation based in London (or Glasgow) to find a Portfolio Accountant to join their team. This presents an exciting chance for a driven and proficient newly Qualified Accountant/finalist (ACA) who thrives on contributing to a prosperous business environment, coupled with outstanding training and growth prospects.
 
The ideal candidate will assume complete responsibility for the financial obligations of a segment within the portfolio of over 100 companies, ensuring consistent reporting and high-quality output of financial data and other managerial insights.

Your responsibilities as the Portfolio Accountant will include:
  • Deliver financial reports for the portfolio, including high-quality monthly and ad-hoc reporting via Power BI and presentations
  • Analyse portfolio companies to present key performance indicators to management and wider teams
  • Understand asset performance and its impact on valuations, collaborating with technical, operations, and data teams for insightful commentary
  • Fulfil lender reporting requirements, liaising with external auditors
  • Manage key balance sheet items, reconciliations, and month-end processes, including reviewing team work
  • Lead year-end reporting and consolidation across various portfolio groups
  • Coordinate with tax advisors on corporate tax affairs and generate annual budgets for portfolio SPVs
  • Proficient in financial model comprehension, updates, and data extraction from existing models
 
The successful Portfolio Accountant will require the following skills and experience:
  • Newly Qualified Accountant/finalist (ACA or equivalent)
  • Relevant experience in asset management, preferably the energy sector
  • Enthusiastic, motivated team player with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Flexible and able to meet tight deadlines, with a resilient and hardworking attitude.
  • Possess high personal credibility, professionalism, and ethical standards.
  • Quick learner of new software, optimizing reporting, processes, and team output.
  • Advanced Excel skills with preferable experience in Power BI and previous exposure to lender and debt reporting.
 
This role involves 3 days in-office and working remotely for the remainder.
