Job Description
Join Thames Water as a Platform Architect and help shape the technology strategy behind a major business transformation. Working with IT leaders, architects, product, and programme teams, you’ll drive strategic technology roadmaps, align solutions to business goals, and lead the design of complex, cross-platform change initiatives.

What you’ll be doing as a SAP Platform Architect
- Managing the strategy for a technology domain and assisting delivery teams with the implementation of that strategy.
- Build and maintain accurate model(s) within our Enterprise Repository of your specific platform.
- Act as lead architect, as required, on projects that are specifically within your particular technical platform.
- Own and produce strategies and roadmaps for the technology domains.
- Creation of policies, procedures, and standards for technology domains.
- Provision of guidance to product and project teams.
- Contribute to the development of the Architecture community at Thames Water.
- Demonstrate thought leadership on architectural topics and promote knowledge sharing across the architecture community.
- Own and agree the technical designs for Programmes and Product teams, provide specialist knowledge in creating the design, and reach out to vendors to supplement your knowledge if required.
- Provide thought leadership to the Programme and product teams, led by example.
- Keeping current on technology-related areas by close engagement with Vendors and industry forums/events.
- Provide Architectural recommendations and submit them at Architectural Governance meetings.
- Inform and influence decisions made at governance boards.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure that they conform to our harmonised governance processes, including the provision of architecture models where necessary.

What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
- Strong experience in Technical or Enterprise Architecture with a focus on Technology.
- Specific experience with SAP Business Technology Platform.
- SAP ERP, SAP Utilities, SAP C4C, SAP BW/4HANA.
- Experience with SAP Integration software.
- The ability to consult on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of a technology domain relevant to Thames Water.
- Experience in Strategic Planning and developing Technology Strategies.
- Extensive experience in at least 2 technology domains, including ownership of associated technology roadmaps.
- Experience of SAP Cloud Platform Integration or SAP Integration Suite.
- Proficiency with SAP Cloud Apps like Ariba and SuccessFactors.
- Understanding and use of an architecture framework. (e.g. TOGAF or ArchiMate)
