Freight Forwarding Agent

We have an opportunity for an experienced Import Export Freight Forwarding Cargo Agent to join a growing Cargo Freight Forwarding company based at their office in Manchester UK. This is an office-based role.

The financial remuneration for this Import Export Cargo Agent position:

• Up to £28,000 per annum

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will work as part of their cargo team, where you will be responsible for dealing with imports and exports related queries from customers, airlines, handling agents and transport companies by phone and email.

The duties of an Import/Export Cargo Agent will include:

• Dealing with inbound call enquiries.
• AWB Completion.
• Custom Entries
• Managing shipments that have been assigned to you.
• Perform and complete daily customs clearance entries.
• Keeping Boxtop and Descartes systems up to date with latest information.
• Manifesting flights for Airlines and Handling Agents.
• Tracing missing cargo.
• Ensuring import and export compliance in adherence to HMRC regulations are adhered to.
• Self-managing and pro-active.

The skills and experience required for this Import Export Cargo Agent role are:


• A minimum of 1 years of Air Imports or Export experience in a Cargo Handling, Airline or General Air Cargo Sales Agent environment.
• A full understanding of the end-to-end Air Freight Imports and or exports process.
• Be highly organized with an ability to manage high volumes of emails and phone calls.
• A 5-year workable history check. Right to Work in UK.
