Specialist Learning & Support - Secondary School - ASAP

We are looking for two SEND or MAINSTREAM SUPPORTERS to start full time ASAP or after Febuary Half Term at a Secondary School in Chelmsford - working with pupils as part of a SEND unit and intervention team. 

This school focuses on working with 11 to 18 year olds pupils, a small number of which express a range of SEND needs, including Autism, ADHD, PMLD, and non neurotypical complex needs. The position would be based around working on a 1 to 1 basis alongside pupils in KS3 and KS4. 

This particular school is also looking for a Permanent member of support, so if you are looking for a permanent career, this may also interest you - however the role will initially start via Pertemps as a long term (academic year) member of specialist support. 

We ideally want to introduce you to this school ASAP, week beginning 12th of Febuary for a visit and a tour!

This is a full time post with typical 8:30 to 15:30 hours Monday to Friday during the term. 

Pertemps Ideal Candidate:
- Experience within SEND Support
- Enjoys working amongst a range of neurodiversity in a school setting / mainstream setting support 
- Has knowledge on therapuetic and pastoral intervetion (not essential)
- Background in Pscyhology, Care Work, Childhood Studies, Nursery, Social Care etc
- Enhanced DBS on the update Service (not essential, we can process one for you if needed) 
- 2 years of working recent references 
- Able to start in Feb of 2024 
- Comfortable working in a Secondary School environment. 
- Someone with experience supporting students learning in school
- Smartly presented
- Articulate 
- Able to move around a classroom confidently as most lessons they will be supporting more than one student
 
The position would be supporting across the year groups and across a wide range of need. The school will initially put you alongside ' less tricky ' students to determine what type of pupil you will be best suited to and which you are confident to work alongside.
