Small Works Estimation & Manager – Essex – £60,000

 

I am currently representing a well-established fire specialist company, who carry out a variety of services from design, installation and maintenance to a number of commercial clients across central London. Due to growth they are now seeking a small works and estimation manager to add to the team.

 

You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of small works projects related to fire detection, security systems, and related technologies. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership capabilities to ensure the successful delivery of projects within budget, timeline, and quality standards.

 

Salary Package:
  • £45,000 - £60,000
  • 40 hour working week
  • Company Vehicle
  • 25 days holidays
 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute small works projects in the fire detection and security systems domain.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in alignment with client requirements and company objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout project execution.
  • Lead a team of technicians, engineers, and subcontractors involved in small works projects.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to enhance their performance and capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment conducive to innovation, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Submission of fire & Security tenders
  • Carrying out fire & Security estimates
  • Working for invitations to tender, not bd required and all warm leads from existing clients.
  • Ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Liaising with clients & contractors
  • Variations  & procurement
  • Finalise tender bids
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and provide regular updates on project status.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to source and procure necessary materials and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Optimize resource utilization to maximize project efficiency and profitability.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure that workmanship and deliverables meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and address any non-conformities promptly.
  • Champion a culture of quality and excellence across the small works team.
