The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients, providing a broad range of accounting and advisory services while working closely with colleagues and clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a range of clients
- Preparing management accounts and financial reports
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
- Preparing personal tax returns where required
- Managing client deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
- Reviewing accounts and work prepared by junior members of the team
- Liaising directly with clients and responding to accounting and tax queries
- Providing clients with practical advice and support
- Assisting with ad hoc accounting and advisory projects
- Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team
We're looking for an experienced accountant with a background in practice who is confident managing client relationships and working across a varied portfolio.
To be considered for this Senior Accountant position, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice
- Strong experience in accounts preparation
- Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and relevant tax legislation
- Experience preparing corporation tax computations
- Strong attention to detail and numerical ability
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively
- AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent experience
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks would be advantageous
