Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in hospitality and gain valuable experience within a professional kitchen setting.
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to support a fast-paced kitchen team by maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards across kitchen and food preparation areas, while assisting chefs with basic food handling duties.
Pay rate: £13.25 p/h post 12 weeks £13.50 p/h
Hours: Early Starts from 05:30 hrs and Late Finishes until 22:30 hrs
As a Kitchen Porter, you would be responsible for:
• Ensuring basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible.
• Collecting and washing up dishes using an industrial dishwasher.
• Ensure storerooms, refrigerators and freezers are organised and tidy.
• Assisting deliveries by moving goods from one location to another.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment to maximise efficiency and prolong life.
• Ensure the cleanliness standards back of house and front of house are maintained.
The essential requirements to be successful as a Kitchen Porter include:
• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Catering Helper, Catering Assistant, General Hand or Kitchen Hand.
• Good communication skills (spoken and written).
• A flexible “can do” attitude.
• The ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment.
• Initiative and ability to work independently.
• Team player.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to work shifts between 0830 – 2230 hrs.
• Ability to commute by public transport to and from London Heathrow Airport.
