🚛 HGV Class 1 Driver (LGV C+E) – Trunking Work

📍 Erdington | £16.98 per hour | Temp-to-perm

Pertemps is recruiting 10 HGV Class 1 Drivers on behalf of our client for ongoing inter- depot trunking work between sites. No handball is involved, making this an ideal opportunity for drivers looking for regular driving work.

🕒 Shifts & Working Hours

• Six-week rotating rota, alternating between Sunday–Friday and Monday–Friday
  
  
• Start time window sits between 11:00 and 18:00
  
  
• Shift length between 8hrs – 10hrs per shift
  
  
• Flexibility to start at any time within this window is essential.
  
  

💷 Pay Rates Monday to Friday

• 06:00–22:00: £16.98 per hour
  
  
• 22:00–06:00: £22.64 per hour
  
  
• Sundays: £33.96 per hour 
  
  
• Minimum 8 hours' pay per weekday shift
  
  
• Minimum 5 hours' pay per Sunday shift
  
  

✅ Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' LGV C+E driving experience; 12 months or more preferred
  
  
• Max 3 points (minor offences)
  
  
• Ideally live within a 30-minute drive of Erdington
  
  
• Must pass a driving assessment and a two-day classroom-based induction.
  
  
• Happy to undergo a Basic DBS Check
  
  

 

📝 Assessment & Induction

Successful applicants will complete:

• A theory assessment covering attitude, knowledge, behaviour and hazard perception.
  
  
• A 40-minute practical driving assessment, including reversing, coupling and uncoupling.
  
  
• An eyesight test
  
  
• A two-day classroom-based training programme
  
  

 

All positions are offered on a temp-to-perm basis. Longer-term temporary arrangements, such as six months, may also be discussed.
