Bookkeeper

Bristol | Up to £34,000 DOE | Permanent | Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

An established and friendly professional services business is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a variety of clients, managing their own workload, and building strong professional relationships.

You will be responsible for providing bookkeeping support across a portfolio of clients, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities
  
  
• Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
  
  
• Performing bank reconciliations
  
  
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  
  
• Processing financial transactions and maintaining accounting records
  
  
• Preparing information for year-end accounts
  
  
• Liaising with clients regarding financial queries
  
  
• Providing general administrative support related to accounts functions
  
  
• Assisting with CIS administration where required
  
  

To be Successful:

• Previous bookkeeping experience is essential
  
  
• Experience within a professional practice environment would be advantageous
  
  
• Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and VAT
  
  
• Confident using accounting software
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  
  
• Professional and confident communicator
  
  
• Able to manage workload independently and prioritise effectively
  
  
• CIS experience would be an advantage
