About the Role
The London Borough of Harrow is looking for a proactive, vigilant, and reliable CCTV Operator to join the Community Safety team.
Please note that this is an ad-hoc relief position, providing cover and support as required. There are no guaranteed hours, and shifts will be allocated based on operational needs. Working hours may vary and could include weekdays, evenings, weekends, nights, and public holidays.

About the Role
The London Borough of Harrow is looking for a proactive, vigilant, and reliable CCTV Operator to join the Community Safety team.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate all systems within the CCTV Control Centre in a professional, proactive, and responsive manner.
- Monitor live CCTV footage in accordance with the CCTV Code of Practice and established control room procedures.
- Identify, monitor, and report incidents relating to:
- Environmental crime
- Anti-social behaviour (ASB)
- Crime and disorder
- Public realm issues
- Compliance concerns
- Provide accurate observations and intelligence to enforcement officers and Community Safety teams.
- Maintain clear and concise incident logs and records.
- Follow escalation procedures and support emergency response activities where required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- The ability to remain focused and alert during prolonged periods of monitoring.
- Experience working within a CCTV control room or similar monitoring environment (desirable).
- A valid SIA CCTV Licence (preferred) or a willingness to obtain one.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to incidents.
- A flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
