Consultant Social Worker – Safeguarding

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Consultant Social Worker to join Hertfordshire Children’s Services within a Safeguarding Team.
The role will provide expert social work practice, leadership and support across frontline Children’s Services, with a focus on safeguarding and child protection.
Key responsibilities:

• Manage complex and high-risk cases, providing expert social work practice
• Provide professional guidance, mentoring and support to colleagues
• Promote high-quality, child-centred safeguarding practice
• Support team performance and contribute to practice improvement
• Work collaboratively with children, families and partner agencies
• Provide leadership and expertise across safeguarding and child protection
• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement
• Support the development of effective practice across the service

Requirements:

• Social Work England registration
• Significant experience within Children’s Social Care
• Strong safeguarding and child protection experience
• Experience managing complex cases
• Excellent knowledge of statutory social work practice
• Ability to provide professional leadership, mentoring and practice guidance
